Music Labs
MUSIC EDUCATION
Performance Technique Lab is a theory-based workshop focused on vocal technique led in a masterclass style. Having a supportive audience of fellow musicians helps encourage professionalism during coaching. Participants observe and learn from the performer and facilitator as models for technical education on performance. The class helps build community among the participants and creates a platform for individual voices to be celebrated on a regular basis.
MUSIC WELLNESS
Music Wellness Lab offers practical ways to use music to create change in the mind and body. Using primarily the voice and body as instruments, we play with the elements of music to settle the nervous system and to address mood, concentration, stress, pain, fear, isolation, and loneliness. Program attendees are encouraged to participate on whatever level of engagement that the individual chooses: listen, sing, share.
LOCATION
Music Education Labs are held Mondays at Studio 526 at The People Concern (526 S San Pedro St).
Music Wellness Labs are held in person at Central Library (630 W 5th St) on Tuesdays, and virtually on Friday's through Zoom.
